One day with NADINE MIRADA in Monaco

Nadine Mirada – famous curve top-model from Vienna, Austria (“Austrian Curvy”), working for Guess, YSL and other international brands. This year will be participant of “The Grand Ball of Princes and Princesses” in Monaco.

What is it like to be a part of the GUESS family? Can you tell us how that came about?

— It’s truly a dream come true. I have always loved Guess and so I posted a picture of me wearing a Guess outfit on my account social media and I tagged the brand and Paul Marciano in the picture. I caught their attention and we connected for a test shoot when I was in Los Angeles for the Oscars. It’s quite a “simple” story, but that’s exactly how it happened. It was really such an incredible experience. From the professionalism to the attention to detail, I felt completely in my element. Guess is truly a unique brand and I felt that we vibe really well together. I am really proud of the outcome.

What are your “can’t live without” skin care products?

— Never without my IS clinical Hydra serum, gold eye patches and YSL blur primer.

We all know beauty starts on the inside. So, what is one way you take care of your mental health?

— In general I’ve been a really positive person all my life, which helps a lot. I will always be myself and I follow my dreams consequently, what keeps me focused and secure of getting lost in all the stressful situations that the jobs come up with. The most important person for taking care of my mental health beside myself is my mum. Although I don’t see her that much, I know she is always by my side.

Do you have a guilty snack?

— Yes, I love so much high quality chocolate. There isn’t one day without.

What are the three most important things for feeling beautiful on the inside?

— Trust yourself. Think positive. Be grateful.

When did you see yourself make the transformation from just a regular blogger to a “Life Ambassador”? When did you start modeling?

— I was in front of the camera for the first time at 3 years old. But as I got older, the industry just wasn’t very open to or accepting of healthy, natural curves. But I am really happy that the mentality of the industry has changed and I believe that my time is now. Even though I might be a bit older than most models, I am happy that I took the time to get a good education and develop my personality… both of which are really invaluable qualities to me.

Who did you look up to when you were little? Who inspires you now?

— My mom. She’s my heart and soul and greatest support.

What is your definition of beauty?

— I’ve learned that it’s a great feeling to feel comfortable and “yourself” in your own skin. Self-love really radiates outward and shines so bright! Additionally, I’ve learned the importance of remaining true to myself as well as treating others and myself with complete respect.

What are some of your favorite films?

— Cinderella.

What is your favorite city, why?

— Monaco, Monte-Carlo. I’m really thankful to work with amazing clients there like, Yours Monaco and Pretty You. I’m honored that my Cinderella dream came true in my favorite city. In 2022 I was booked as a princess for «The Grand Ball of Princes and Princesses».

What is your favorite location you’ve shot at?

— There are so many amazing locations. But one of my favorite was a yacht and a really big old beautiful fairy tale castle.

What words of wisdom do you have for curvy girls wishing to start a modeling career in the more accepting yet still thin-dominated fashion industry we have today?

— Do not hide or be ashamed of your curves! An outfit always looks great when worn with personality and confidence — both of which have nothing to do with body type or measurements. Set clear goals and stay focused on them. And remember that sometimes it’s the things that you don’t do in order to stay true to yourself and your values that lead to success in the end.
